Our Story

A family guest house, in no hurry.

Terrazze sul Natisone sits above the emerald banks of the Natisone River, in the medieval heart of Cividale del Friuli — a UNESCO World Heritage site founded by the Lombards. Our terraces, framed in warm stone and terracotta, are an invitation to travel slowly.

Mornings begin with bread from the village bakery, jams from our garden, and coffee under the olive tree as the sun climbs over the valley. Evenings end with a glass of Friulano on the deck, lemons ripening on the parapet, the river murmuring below.

We're a small house — only a few rooms — by design. We'd rather know your name than fill every bed. Welcome to the rhythm of Friuli.

In the Valley

Things to live, just outside our door.

Cividale moves with its festivals. Here are a few worth planning a stay around.

  1. July

    Mittelfest

A two-week festival of theatre, music, and dance from across Central Europe — staged in the squares of Cividale.

  2. January 6

    Messa dello Spadone

A medieval rite in the Cathedral: a deacon reads the gospel holding the sword of Patriarch Marquardo.

  3. August

    Palio di San Donato

Costumed parades, archery, and races through the old town to celebrate the city’s patron saint.
